Veteran actor Jerry Douglas, best known for playing patriarch John Abbott on the famous soap opera. ‘The Young and the Restless died at the age of 88 on November 9. He is in Los Angeles after a brief illness.
The actor logged nearly 900 episodes on ‘The Young and the Restless’ show. He was the third actor to play John Abbott, presiding over the Abbott Mansion and Jabot Cosmetics for 25 years. The fan-favorite character kills off in 2006, as per the report.

The veteran star appeared in many other popular TV shows over the years, including ‘Cold Case’, ‘Melrose Place’, ‘Arrested Development, ‘Mission: Impossible, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, and ‘The F.B.I.’ and more.
Jerry also worked on the big screen, with roles in movies like ‘JFK’, ‘Good Guys Wear Black’, ‘Avalanche’, ‘Mommie Dearest, ‘Head Over Spurs in Love’ and ‘The Godson’. He also acted in various theatre productions and sang.

Douglas recently celebrated his birthday early with his former castmates from ‘The Young and the Restless.

He is survived by his wife Kym Douglas, as well as his sons, Jod and Hunter, and daughter Avra.

The animated sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy. Introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

Evans, best knowing for his role as Captain America in the ‘Avengers’ series, said in a statement, “The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets throw around a lot. But I’ve never meant it more in my life.”
“Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else. Watching them work is nothing short of magic. I pinch myself every day,” Chris added.

The animated project is being billed as the “definitive story of the original Buzz Lightyear”.

Shortly after he was announced as the lead voice for the movie, fans of actor Tim Allen expressed their anger over the cast. It was then that Evans explained in a tweet, “Just to be clear, this isn’t Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear that the toy is based on.”

The film that is slated for a June 2022 release is being helmed by Annie Award-winning director and veteran Pixar animator Angus MacLane.

Actor Richard Evans, best known for his work in television. In the 1960s and 1970s, has died at the age of 86.
As per a portal, Evans had been battling cancer and left for his heavenly abode on October 2. He was 86 when he breathed his last.

During his 40-year acting career, Evans also appeared as a guest star in ‘Death Valley Days’, ‘Cheyenne’, and ‘Mod Squad’ among others.

Evans had also tried his hand at writing, directing, and producing. For the big screen including ‘The Mystery of Howard Hangar’, and ‘Harry Monument’. He was also an author. His final book, ‘Ploys’, was complets shortly before his demise.

The book is a collection of plays to be performed free of rental fees when staged as fundraisers for the homeless.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloe Zhao says Kingo in ‘Eternals’ is a character that “loves pop culture and showmanship”. This is why making him a Bollywood star grooving to a “beautiful, joyous dance sequence”. The big Marvel movie felt “incredible”.
The director said Kingo, played by Pakistani-American star Kumail Nanjiani, was always supposed to be a Bollywood hero.

“When I came into the process, there was a treatment and in the treatment, there are always stories. And parts that take place in Mumbai. Kingo is a Bollywood star in the present day. And I thought that was so interesting because we knew Kingo is going to be a character. That embraced the side of humanity that loves pop culture, that loves storytelling, that showmanship,” Zhao said responding to a question from PTI.

On bringing together different cultural elements to a superhero film. The Chinese-American director said the character arc of Kingo is a breath of fresh air.

“It was interesting to see the writers and the Marvel team did not just make him. A Hollywood star since we’ve seen him many times, but really to make him a Bollywood star. And also have this beautiful, joyous dance sequence. I thought it’s incredible to include in a big Marvel movie,” she added.

‘Eternals’ introduces audiences to 10 never-seen-before superheroes. Played by some of the biggest names in Hollywood such as Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, ”Game of Thrones” stars Richard Madden and Kit Harington, Gemma Chan, Nanjiani, and Don Lee.
Nanjiani recently revealed that he had initially expressed his inability to dance. But Zhao tricked him by promising to change the segment to an action scene only to keep the dance sequence intact.

“I wanted this so bad because I wanted to work with the team at Marvel because I love the movies. Also with this particular story, I felt like I have something to offer. And it’s a story that would address questions that I have for myself as a human being. So, I knew the making of that will allow me to grow,” the 39-year-old filmmaker explained.

Zhao, whose debut film  ‘Songs My Brother Taught Me’ which she follow by the critically-acclaim “The Rider”, attract global attention with ‘Nomadland’, a film that focuses on a woman who leaves home and decides to become a nomad after her husband dies and she loses her job.

‘Eternals’ is set for release in Indian theatres on November 5 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Actor Halston Sage will star in the upcoming indie drama film, The List. She will also serve as the executive producer of the project, which will be directed by Melissa Miller Costanzo.

Written by Rob Lederer and Steve Vitolo, the story centers on Abby (Sage). She is about to get married and everything is perfect until she finds out her fiance has cheated. On her with a celebrity from his ‘free pass’ list.

“To get her mind off things, Abby and her best friend Chloe come up with a crazy idea: Abby should pursue a celebrity from her own list. But things become complicated when she meets Jake, who gives her a fresh perspective,” the film’s synopsis reads.

In a post on Instagram, Halston announced the wrap of the film, and said, “The List is officially wrapped! I feel very lucky to have been surrounded by a cast and crew who all put so much heart into this movie. I’m laughing just thinking about the last 4 weeks of filming. I can’t wait for everyone to see it!”

Also backed by Nickel City Picture’s Tobias Weymar, Annie Mahoney, and Mark Fasano, the film have Vitolo, Lederer, Eric B Fleischmann, and Maurice Fadida on board as executive producers.

Warner Bros has announced Dune: Part Two. The movie got a release date of October 2023.

Dune: Part Two will be releasing exclusively in movie theatres, news agency Reuters reportes, quoting Warner Bros. The first part of the sci-fi epic has been directs by Denis Villeneuve. Dune feature Timothee, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, and Josh Brolin among others.

Hollywood Reporter quoted Denis, “I just received news from Legendary that we are officially moving forward with Dune: Part Two. It was a dream of mine to adapt Frank Herbert’s Dune and I have the fans, the cast, and crew, Legendary, and Warner Bros. to thank for supporting this dream. This is only the beginning.”

The first movie was released simultaneously in theatres and on streaming service HBO Max. Set in a future where noble families rule planetary fiefs, the story follows Paul Atreides (Timothee), whose father takes on the stewardship of planet Arrakis, known as Dune to its native Fremen people and contested for its unique spice commodity found in its inhospitable desert.

The Hindustan Times review read, “Denis Villeneuve’s Dune still evaporates from the mind as little as two hours later. Sandy worms and dragonfly choppers can only do so much when there isn’t a big, beating heart in a film to tether yourself.”

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, who is all set to play the superhero Thena in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie ‘Eternals’, has talked about what makes her character so interesting.
Angelina said: “I attract to this project for many reasons. I am a fan of MCU. Was a big fan of Chloe’s (Zhao, director). And then when they first talked to me about the story, really, it was the cast. It was the idea of what this family would be.”

The star added that she “just wanted to be a part of this family”.
“Before I even knew very much about who I was gonna play. Um, but as I learn about Thena, and that’s one of the special things that Chloe brings to this, is she’s known for, bringing reality to a film.”

‘Eternals’ also features Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Gemma Chan, and Barry Keoghan. ‘Eternals’ will light up the screens on Diwali on November 5.

Jolie said that a lot of the stars cast to bring out something from their own lives, “something within ourselves, that maybe not even aware of. And then let it live and let it grow within the film. So, she is maybe the most fantastic I’ve ever played in a superhero. And yet, my children said it was the most like me.”

The actress shared that it is “hard” to talk about Thena.

“But her vulnerability, and her, what she’s trying to balance. And that being able to be in the same woman who is also considered very strong. I think we often have to present to be fully together to be strong. And yet, I think she holds both, which most people do. And it’s important to see it,” Jolie said.

South Korean actor Ma Dong-Seok, also known as Don Lee, has said his character Gilgamesh. In the upcoming superhero movie, ‘Eternals’ reflects his unique personality and signature action style.
“Since the zombie thriller ‘Train to Busan’ (2016) was released about five years ago. I’ve received some offers from Hollywood,” he said during an online press conference with Korean media on Friday. “A few years ago, I got a call from a casting director of ‘Eternals’. After I lost some projects due to my schedules.”

Ma is the first ethnically Korean actor to take a lead role in a Marvel superhero film, reports Yonhap news agency. South Korean Soo-Hyun, known as Claudia Kim, played a supporting role as a geneticist in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (2015).

Gaining international popularity for his role in ‘Train to Busan’, Ma has done about 50 films, including the crime actioner ‘The Outlaws’ (2017) and the crime thriller ‘The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil’ (2019), across 15 years.

Over his career, the 50-year-old star has carved out a presence in the South Korean movie industry as a lovable action character who is powerful and tough but friendly and warm-hearted.

Ma said ‘Eternals’ director Chloe Zhao, who won Oscars for ‘Nomadland’ (2021), had asked him to take Gilgamesh and changed the character, who is not Asian in the original Marvel Comics, for him.

Ma said he felt almost nothing different in shooting a film in the United States. But I was surprised by the huge scale of its production and its workforce,”. “Hundreds of people are working on one project. Their teamwork and collaboration looked great to me.”

He said he and his American colleagues, including Angelina Jolie as Thena, did well to show on-screen chemistry in ‘Eternals’.
