‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ star Letitia Wright hospitalised after stunt on shoot.

‘Black Panther star Letitia Wright admits in hospital for treatment. She is sustaining minor injuries on the Boston set of the film’s sequel ‘Wakanda Forever.
A Marvel spokesperson said in a statement, Wednesday that the incident happens while filming a stunt for the sequel. Wright is soon releasing from the hospital.

Wright reprises her role as Shuri in ‘Wakanda Forever. This is direct by Ryan Coogler. The 27-year-old British actor was a breakout in the first film as the science-minded sister of the late Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa.

Wright’s injuries have not delayed the production of the sequel, which is released in July 2022.

Production on “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,”  began in June 2021. Cast details are keep under wrap. But expected that the main cast members Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, and Angela Bassett will return for the sequel to the Oscar-nominated movie.

Matrix 4 Officially Titled The Matrix Resurrections.

‘The Matrix 4’ finally has an official title!
Warner Brothers on Tuesday unveiled the first trailer of their newly titled film ‘The Matrix: Resurrections’, played exclusively for CinemaCon audiences. But it is not released online yet.

The fourth film of ‘The Matrix’ franchise, will see Lana Wachowski return to the director’s chair and bring back Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, as their characters Neo and Trinity.
According to reports, both characters are heavily present in the trailer.

The trailer begins with Thomas Anderson telling his therapist (Neil Patrick Harris), “I had dreams that weren’t just dreams. Am I crazy?”
While he does sense that things are not quite right with the world. He has no memory of The Matrix. He later runs into a woman (Moss) at a coffee shop, but neither one remembers the other.

‘The Matrix 4’, also features Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jonathan Groff, and Neil Patrick Harris.
Actors Jessica Henwick, Telma Hopkins, Erendira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Christina Ricci, and Brian J Smith round out the cast. The film is set to premiere on December 22, 2021, in theatres and on an OTT streaming platform.

China box office: Market slows as Delta variant, extreme weather closes cinemas

The top three films at the China box office remained unchanged over the three-day weekend August 13-15. As box office takings were hit by the Delta variant, extreme weather, and a lack of major new releases.

Chinese authorities have ordered cinemas to close in high-risk areas. As the country battles isolated outbreaks of the Delta variant of Covid-19. And continues to restrict seating capacity to 75% in other areas.

Cinemas in some parts of eastern China have closed or been hit due to heavy flooding that has made access difficult. An unofficial blackout on Hollywood films extended this year . During the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. It may also have contributed to the current box office slowdown.

State media reported that the combined box office in July was down 44% to $499m. Compared to the same as 2019 when the market was hit by Covid. Of the 48 films released during the month, 25 grossed less than $77,000 (RMB500,000) and only six made more than $15.4m (RMB100m).

Two films braved the current difficult conditions and entered the top five over the past weekend – romantic comedy Lie Detector, produced by Yuedong Flower Pictures, and Laurel Films’ The Old Town Girls, which premiered at Tokyo International Film Festival last year.

The Old Town Girls, which opened on August 14, came in fifth with $2.7m from its opening two days. Directed by Shen Yu, the film revolves around a high school girl living with her father and stepmother. She is going to her biological mother. She left her soon after birth.

The unofficial blackout in Hollywood films ends this weekend as Disney/Pixar’s Luca is scheduled for release on August 20. Lionsgate’s Chaos Walking, directed by Doug Liman. He is also appearing on local sites such as Douban with an August 27 release date. However, there has been no news on a release date for Disney/Marvel’s Black Widow.

 

‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ to release in India on September 3

Again the most-awaited movie will be releases in English, Hindi, Telugu, as well as Kannada languages in Indian theaters.  Daniel Destin Cretton direct the movie.

 The studio wrote on its social media handles    “Attention all Marvel fans! Gather your tribe and gin formation. A new legend is going to rise! Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ in cinemas on 3rd September.

Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu will take on the lead role as the martial arts superhero. Set after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ the movie follows Shang-Chi who must confront the past.

The film also has stars Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, and  Michelle.
Hong Kong star Tony Leung is playing Wenwu, Shang-Chi’s father and the main villain in the movie.
 In fact, the film will also mark the return of Sir Ben Kingsley to the MCU. He first appeared in Robert Downey Jr’s ‘Iron Man 3’ where he portrayed the role of Trevor Slattery – an actor posing as the notorious terrorist the Mandarin.
‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘, Marvel’s first film with an Asian superhero, is set for a theatrical release in India on September 3.

Eternals final trailer: Epic Marvel Movie.

The final Eternals trailer has been released. And it answered the biggest burning question: Why didn’t the immortal beings join Avengers in their fight against Thanos.

Ikaris sets out on a journey to regroup the Eternals to fight against the threat awaiting them. The trailer teases each Eternal superhero’s superpower and gives a glimpse of an epic showdown in the film.

Eternals features Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Angelina Jolie as Thena. Kit Harington plays Dane Whitman.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe film is helmed by Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly Chloé said, “I was very fortunate. I feel like I entered the MCU at a time when a wonderful story had just concluded so it’s a bit like we’re on the frontier. There’s a lot of desire to explore.

 

Best Marvel origin story, Simu Liu is an awesome hero’: Audience reaction

Actor Simu Liu, got a warm welcome into Marvel Cinematic Universe by enthusiastic audiences.

Marvel Studio’s latest offering, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is gearing up for its big theatrical release on September 3. The film would stay in cinemas for 45 days before it’s moving to Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. The first reactions of Shang-Chi’s origin story are here. And going by what we already have, it is probably the best actioner Marvel has given to its fans to date.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring  Simu Liu has a world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, which was attended by its cast and crew, along with several celebrities. The selected journalists also watch the movie, as well as shared their reactions on social media.

Host-producer Brandon Davis tweeted, “#ShangChi is awesome. This movie hits all that Marvel does well (pacing, humor, character) and adds action as we’ve never seen from the MCU before! Lots of people are about to have a new favorite Marvel hero. Darker than expected. Loads of fun. Integral to MCU Phase 4!”

Kristen Acuna from the Insider wrote, “#ShangChi is fantastic. It’s full of INCREDIBLE, beautifully choreographed fight scenes and full of badass women. Get ready to know Simu Liu’s name if you don’t already. Marvel has another hit on its hands.” Joseph Deckelmeier added, “3 things. 1. #shangchi has of the best #MCU origins I’ve seen. 2. The action in #SahangChi is some of the best I’ve seen in the MCU! 3. @SimuLiu is my favorite actor in the #MCU and is welcome to karaoke with us at any time!”

For actor Wendy Lee Szany, Shang-Chi is a “phenomenon”. While Eric Goldman claimed, “There is a lot not in the trailers… And Simu Liu makes for an awesome hero.”

Others like Joseph Deckelmeier from Screenrant and journalist Drew Taylor also shared their reactions on Twitter.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have been directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. It also stars Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, and Florian Munteanu. Actor Benedict Wong is said to reprise his role as a sorcerer in the new film.

Emma Stone to return in Cruella 2

Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone has signed a deal to star in the second installment of ‘Cruella’. The news of ‘Cruella 2’ came out in early June. Just weeks after the live-action prequel to the Disney animated classic ‘101 Dalmations’ opened in theaters.

Patrick Whitesell, Executive Chairman of Endeavor said: “While the media landscape has been disrupting in a meaningful way for all distributors. Their creative partners cannot be left on the sidelines to carry a disproportionate amount of the downside without the potential for upside.”

“This agreement demonstrates that there can be an equitable path forward that protects artists and aligns studios’ interests with talent,” Whitesell said.

“We are proud to work alongside Emma and Disney. And appreciate the studio’s willingness to recognize her contributions as a creative partner. We are hopeful that this will open the door for more members. For the creative community to participate in the success of new platforms.”

Stone starred in and executive produced the film. Right after the release, ‘Cruella’ was also available on Disney Plus. The new agreement comes amid actress Scarlett Johansson’s breach of contract suit against Disney over the company’s decision to release. ‘Black Widow’ simultaneously on Disney Plus and in theatres.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage release postponed in US Due to covid cases rise .

The theatrical release of comic book adventure movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage, starring Tom Hardy as the titular anti-hero has been postponing by Sony Pictures increasing in the Covid-19 cases in the US.

The Venom sequel which was schedule to open on September 24 in the US will now premiere on October 15. Venom 2 has been delayed. Because Hollywood is once again grappling with the pandemic as a delta variant surge sweeps the country.

Actor-filmmaker Andy Serkis has directed the movie from a script written by Kelly Marcel.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage features Woody Harrelson as the main opponent Cletus Kasady aka Carnage. A character that was introducing in a last-minute cameo in 2018’s Venom.Venom 2 will pick off where the first film left off. Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock a journalist who comes in contact with the Venom symbiote. The sequel will fulfill the fact teased by the stinger when Brock and Venom face off against Carnage played by Woody Harrelson.

Actors Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Naomie Harris are also part of the cast.

‘CODA’ the movie that will emotionally destroy you,”THE FEEL GOOD MOVIE”.

CODA’S sweep at this year’s Sundance – it won all four major awards at the festival.

“CODA” contains a great many elements familiar to this kind of movie. It’s about a restless teenager trying to break free from her parent’s expectations.

Jones, whom I’d never seen before is a movie star. She will earn an Oscar nomination for her performance here. And if things work out have a career trajectory like that of Emma Stone. I only hope that she avoids the allure of a Marvel movie.

In Coda, she plays the teenager Ruby Rossi the only hearing member of a culturally Deaf family that has been in the fishing line for generations. When Ruby in the spur of the moment decides to join the school choir and pursue her passion for singing.

He playfully puts her in the very awkward position of collaborating on a duet with her childhood crush. Not that the film needs it but it wouldn’t really be a high-school movie without some young love.

Coda is so understandable in its manner that it’s easy to forget just how grave some of its themes are. And how confidently Heder navigates them.

Coda is primarily in American Sign Language — a rich, expressive form of communication. It stars three Deaf actors in central roles. Each of whom is deserving of awards attention. Heder directs with empathy and an astute eye. Her camera hovers over arms and legs reading body language on her characters behalf.

It is established early on enjoys ‘listening’ to gangster rap. Because he can feel the vibrations from the bass. It’s a tiny detail that is beautifully paid off in the film’s final moments. But crucially it earns every emotional beat.

An Oscar for Apple, in the same awards season that Ted Lasso dominated the Emmys  would do more brand-building for the tech giant than a keynote . Beg, borrow, or steal an iPhone; Coda can’t be missed.

Idris Elba to voice Knuckles in Sonic The Hedgehog 2

The Suicide Squad star Idris Elba has mounted on the cast of the upcoming animation film Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in which he will voice the fan-favorite character Knuckles.

Elba has lent his voice to several projects including animated features “Finding Dory” and “Zootopia,” an animation live-action hybrid “The Jungle Book “, all released in 2016. His casting in “Sonic 2” only increases curiosity as to who will play Sonic’s loyal buddy Tails who is also set to join the sequel.

He took to Instagram to announce the news with his fans by sharing an image of the game character’s signature hand.

“Knock, knock,” he captioned the post.

Apart from Idris, James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, and Jim Carrey. They will also lend their voices to other characters in the movie.

Jeff Fowler will only direct the sequel. After delivering a pre-pandemic blockbuster for Paramount with the first 2020 film.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with Idris Elba’s voice will release on April 8, 2022.
