‘No Time to Die’ scores big opening weekend with $121 million in international box office sales.

The latest James Bond movie took a mighty $121 million at the international box office. Over its opening weekend, Universal Pictures said on Monday.

The British and Irish box office led the way with a total of $35 million. Making “No Time to Die” the biggest movie release there of the coronavirus pandemic. The highest opening three-day weekend ever in the UK and Ireland for a Bond movie.

The film, which marks actor Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as the British secret agent. Delayed three times from its planned April 2020 release date because of the pandemic.

“No Time to Die” has yet to open in North America, arriving in movie theaters in the U.S. and Canada on Friday. Universal and studio MGM decided to release the film exclusively in theaters. Eschewing the trend this year by many distributors to release movies on their streaming platforms at the same time.

The action movie, which cost an estimated $200 million to produce. Won warm reviews with many film critics saying it was worth the wait.

Venom Let There Be Carnage scores pandemic.

Sony Pictures’ Marvel sequel “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” blew away expectations. Debut with $90.1 million in ticket sales, making it easy. The best opening of the pandemic, according to studio estimates Sunday.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is forecast to open with half that total. But the film, which is playing exclusively in theaters, exceeded even the debut of the 2018 original. “Venom,” the “Spider-Man” offshoot that introduced Tom Hardy’s parasitic alien symbiote, launched with $80.3 million. Only 2019′s “Joker” ($96.2 million) has ever opened bigger in October.

Both “Let There Be Carnage” and MGM’s “No Time to Die” originally  set to open last year. Believing the best box-office return would happen with an exclusive release in theaters. Both studios (neither of which has a major streaming platform) held out for better moviegoing conditions.

“No Time to Die,” which opens in North America on Friday, launched with $119.1 million in 54 overseas markets. The pace, according to MGM and Universal Pictures was roughly in line with the opening for “Skyfall.” Following its London premiere last week, “No Time to Die” — the 25th Bond film and Daniel Craig’s last outing as the super spy — grossed $25.6 million in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Its $11.4 million on Saturday there was the best box office day for any Bond film on its home turf.

“Films can only become cultural when people see them together on the biggest, best screens and have that experience as a group,” said Josh Greenstein, president of Sony Motion Pictures Group. “You can’t replicate that by yourself at home.”

Stranger Things season 4 gets a new teaser trailer.

Netflix debuted a new teaser trailer for Stranger Things season 4 as part of its Tudum event on Saturday. It opened on a family going into an old-timey house, but in classic Stranger Things fashion, things quickly got spooky and, well, strange. The new season will premiere sometime in 2022.

The fourth season has been a long time coming. Stranger Things’ third season debuted more than two years ago, on July 4th, 2019, so fans have been waiting for quite a while to see what happens next in Netflix’s hit series.

In February 2020, a teaser revealed that a fan-favorite character would be returning. A teaser from May appeared to show a brief glimpse of Eleven’s past. And an action-packed 30-second teaser shared in August provided a lot of brief flashes of the new season and gave a non-specific 2022 release window.

Throughout this two-year wait, many teasers have been released. However, Netflix has just released another ‘Creel House‘ that has gone viral. Season four will have Nine Episodes, according to the Duffer Brothers on Twitter.

The movie was originally scheduled to debut in April 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic. But cinemas are close and impose restrictions on audience numbers.

“This past 18 month has been a pretty terrible time for everybody,” Craig told Reuters. “The great thing is we’re here. We got to this point and we can actually now put it into the cinema. And … that’s just all gravy from now on.”
