Netflix has ‘never seen any movie behave like’ this Priyanka-starrer, is shocked

Director Robert Rodriguez says that Netflix is ‘shocked’. At how well his 2020 film We Can Be Heroes is doing on the platform. Priyanka Chopra played a supporting role in the film.

He told to Collider, “They shock at how well it keeps doing. They call it unstoppable. They’ve never seen any movie behave like that. It just will not stop. Kids will just not stop watching it. And I think it happened with the Spy Kid movies, but you couldn’t even keep track of it.

Because you can’t tell how many times kids watch it on VCR or watch on the Disney channel. But now with their metrics, they can tell how many times a household is watching something again and again, through completion. Which a lot of the times when it’s been a big opening weekend, it didn’t mean people actually watched the whole movie. It means they watched five minutes or more.” The completion rate was really high, but also the repeat rate was just off the charts, because kids just will watch it in the morning before school and after school every day. So yeah, they definitely want a sequel, which I’m working on because it’s a new franchise for them. That behaves very differently. But kids crave the empowerment and those movies just hit those buttons.”

We Can Be Heroes was one of two back-to-back Netflix films for Priyanka. She also starred in an executive produced The White Tiger, directed by Ramin Bahrani and co-starring Adarsh Gourav and Rajkummar Rao. The film is nominating for a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar.

Priyanka signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Amazon last year, through which she’ll produce a wide slate of content across languages for the streamer. She is currently filming Amazon’s spy series Citadel, executive produced by the Russo brothers.

We Can Be Heroes also emphasized Pedro Pascal, YaYa Gosselin, Christian Slater, Sung Kang, Adriana Barraza, Boyd Holbrook, Taylor Dooley, Vivien Blair, and Christopher McDonald.

Avengers & Other Marvel Flicks Might Get Banned In China Due To A New Law?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years has made fans all across the globe. It is no news that Asia holds a huge stake in making the studio what it is today. Half of the credit goes to China which over years has become a gold mine for the studios to release their films and earn big. The country has a special place in their hearts and that is evident. But now it seems dystopia is about to hit the future of MCU in China and here’s how.

Over the years the Marvel flicks have found momentum. And when the cinematic universe expanded after Iron Man (2008), it only saw a boom in business. China contributed over $100 Million for each film.

As per a report in We Got This Covered new national security law has been passed by the authorities in China. It gives the Hong Kong Chief Secretary the power to revoke or ban any film of their choice. They also have the power to implement a $128,000 fine on anyone who is detect screening an unlicensed movie.

This has created a huge stir amid the movie-going audience in the country, and there are protests. The protest has even taken Avengers: Endgame references and memes which feature Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping as Thanos.

If Marvel movies including the country’s favorite Avengers in any way turn out to be anti-establishment and inspire pro-democracy supporters, they will be simply outlaw.
